Where is Washpen Falls?

About one hours drive from Christchurch, Washpen Falls offers unique outdoor recreational facilities in a breathtaking natural setting in the midst of a working sheep cattle and deer farm. Washpen Falls is ideally located, not only is it situated near golf, water sports and the snow fields but is also a head start towards famous playgrounds of Queenstown, Wanaka and beyond.

What can we do at Washpen Falls
The Adventure Walk: Walk the fascinating track (most of which is natural but partly boardwalk for your convenience) which takes you through an ancient volcanic canyon full of lush native bush and bird life, to the cliff top where one is rewarded by breathtaking views across the Canterbury Plains. On your descent you follow the babbling creek past ponds and beautiful waterfalls.
Stay at Washpen Chalet:  Stay at Washpen chalet, a comfortable self catering rustic timber cottage which can house up to seven persons. It is ideal winter or summer for you or a group of your friends to stay a few nights and enjoy the surrounds before making tracks to places further south. Alternatively, you may make this a memorable place for your final night to stay before setting off for home from Christchurch Airport (less than an hour away).  Bookings NOT essential.
Arrange a Party at Washpen Falls: Next celebration arrange for your party to be catered for in the outdoor bush party facilities at Washpen Falls. A rustic timber dining area next to a beautiful lake provides a festive atmosphere for a picnic, afternoon tea or evening function.
