HOW TO GET TO WASHPEN FALLS

About one hours drive from Christchurch, Washpen Falls offers unique outdoor recreational facilities in a breathtaking natural setting in the midst of a working sheep cattle and deer farm. Washpen Falls is ideally located, not only is it situated near golf, water sports and the snow fields but is also a head start towards famous playgrounds of Queenstown, Wanaka and beyond.

From Christchurch:

Take Highway 73 to Darfield (1), then turn left towards Mount Hutt. Travel through Glentunnel (2) and zero your odometer at the single lane bridge. Follow this Rd for 17km. At the second Washpen Road sign (3), turn right onto the gravel road. Drive 400 metres and turn left into the farm at the Washpen Falls sign (4). Follow the driveway for 1.8km and you will see the Washpen Chalet (5) on your right.

From Methven, Dunedin or Tekapo:

At the Rakaia Gorge Bridge (1), follow the white line on the road for 8.2 km.  Turn left into Washpen Rd (2), and drive 400 m before turning left  into the farm at the Washpen Falls sign (3). Follow the driveway for 1.8km and you will see Washpen Chalet on your right (4).
